Yuldosheva Mehrigul Nabiyevna , Master's student at the University of Economics and Pedagogy

Abstract

This article explores the semantic foundations of punctuation in English, specifically within the context of dramatic works. It examines how punctuation marks serve not only as grammatical tools but also as carriers of meaning that influence the interpretation of dialogue and narrative structure in plays. By analyzing various dramatic texts, the study highlights the interplay between punctuation and semantics, demonstrating how punctuation can affect tone, pacing, and emotional nuance. The findings reveal that punctuation is integral to understanding character dynamics and the overall thematic depth of dramatic literature.
