This article explains the lexical meaning of historical military terms used in "Boburnoma" by Shah and poet Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur. Historical military terms are divided into spiritual groups and analyzed based on examples taken from "Boburnoma". Also, the use and meaning of military terms at that time, as well as today's synonymy options are given. Etymological analysis of some military terms given in the work is given. Historical military words in "Boburnoma" are explained based on the etymological analysis available in historical dictionaries. Compatibility with Uzbek military terms used today is analyzed. The lexical meanings of the historical military terms used in Babur's time are given in historical dictionaries, and their alternatives in Uzbek are given. Because the work uses the names of military weapons, military ranks and positions, lexical units representing military tactics, as well as the names of military uniforms. The analysis of such military terms is of great practical importance today. Because studying Babur's works and knowing the etymological analysis of the used historical words helps to understand the content of the work fully. From this point of view, it is emphasized that the lexical meanings of historical military terms used in the works of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur are one of the critical issues that require scientific analysis and every reader needs to know their meanings.
