SECURING ONLINE TERRITORIES: COUNTERING CYBERSQUATTING IN E-COMMERCE

Abstract

Cybersquatting, the practice of registering domain names with the intent to profit from a trademark owner's brand, poses a significant challenge in the e-commerce landscape. This study explores strategies for countering cyber squatters and protecting digital brand identities. Drawing on legal, technological, and business perspectives, the research offers insights into preventative measures, legal remedies, and the evolving tactics used by cyber squatters in the ever-changing online marketplace. It underscores the importance of proactive domain management and collaborative efforts between stakeholders to secure online territories and maintain brand integrity.
