This article analyzes current issues related to the development of professional competencies of primary school teachers. The structure of teachers’ professional competence, influencing factors, existing challenges, and possible solutions are examined from theoretical and practical perspectives. The findings indicate that teachers’ professional competencies play a decisive role in improving the quality of primary education.
