| Open Access | THE CHEMICAL BASIS OF CANCER DEVELOPMENT AND CHEMOTHERAPY DESIGN
Aishath N.D. , Chemical researcherAbstract
Cancer is a complex disease driven by chemical and molecular alterations in cellular systems. Changes in DNA structure, protein function, and biochemical signaling pathways lead to uncontrolled cell proliferation and tumor formation. Understanding the chemical basis of cancer development is essential for designing effective chemotherapeutic agents. This article examines the chemical mechanisms underlying cancer progression and discusses how these mechanisms guide the design of chemotherapy drugs. The study highlights the importance of chemical principles in identifying drug targets, developing anticancer agents, and improving therapeutic outcomes in oncology.
