THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN OBESITY AND DIABETES.

Abstract

Obesity and diabetes are two major global health issues that often coexist. Numerous studies have confirmed a strong association between excessive body fat accumulation and the development of type 2 diabetes mellitus.This article discusses the physiological mechanisms linking obesity to insulin resistance, reviews epidemiological data supporting their correlation, and highlights preventive and management strategies aimed at reducing the risk of diabetes in obese individuals.
