This article examines the issues of professional training of future primary school teachers in forming and developing pupils’ reading literacy. The essence and significance of reading literacy, modern pedagogical approaches and interactive methods used in its development, as well as the importance of teachers’ professional competencies are analyzed. In addition, methodological recommendations aimed at improving pupils’ reading literacy are presented.
