THE IMPORTANCE OF ORAL HYGIENE IN MAINTAINING THE HEALTH OF TISSUES SURROUNDING DENTAL IMPLANTS
Dildora To‘lqin qizi Azimova , Assistant, EMU UniversityAbstract
Dental implants are widely used in modern dentistry as an effective method for replacing missing teeth. The long-term success of implant therapy largely depends on the condition of the peri-implant tissues and the level of oral hygiene maintained by the patient. Numerous clinical and epidemiological studies confirm that inadequate plaque control leads to inflammatory diseases around implants, including peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis. This article analyzes scientific evidence on the role of oral hygiene in maintaining the health of tissues surrounding dental implants. The paper examines risk factors associated with poor oral hygiene, preventive strategies, and evidence-based recommendations for maintaining peri-implant tissue health. The analysis is based on clinical research, systematic reviews, and international dental guidelines.
