THE RELEVANCE OF IMPROVING MEASURES FOR SCREENING AND PRESERVING STRAINS OF MICROBIOLOGICAL TESTS

Nargiza Rakhimova Rustamdzhanovna , Assistant of the Department of Allergology, Clinical Immunology, and Microbiology of Tashkent State Medical University

Abstract

Antibiotics, vaccines, and medications for a variety of illnesses are made from a variety of microorganisms; by keeping these microbes and viruses alive, the creation process can be expedited. We have examined new and developing technologies as well as both short-term and long-term microbial and viral preservation techniques. The goal of short-term microbe preservation techniques is to keep the organisms viable for a few days to a year. A major worldwide concern is infectious diseases, which are made worse by the rise of antibiotic resistance. As a result, scientists are looking at new antibacterial substances as possible remedies. The significance of the techniques used for screening and assessing antimicrobial activity—a crucial stage in the identification and characterization of antimicrobial agents—is highlighted by this work. Traditional methods including broth-dilution, disk-diffusion, and well-diffusion are frequently used in antimicrobial studies, although their speed and repeatability may be limited. Antimicrobial evaluations also frequently use a wide range of antimicrobial tests, such as cross-streaking, poisoned-food, co-culture, time-kill kinetics, resazurin assay, bioautography, etc. Advanced methods including bioluminescence, flow-cytometry, and impedance analysis may provide sensitive and quick results, giving more information about how antimicrobials affect cellular integrity. Nonetheless, there can be difficulties due to their greater expense and restricted availability in specific lab environments. This page gives a thorough rundown of assays used to describe antibiotic activity, explaining their fundamental ideas, procedures, benefits, and drawbacks. In our never-ending fight against infectious diseases, the main goal is to improve knowledge of the techniques created for assessing antimicrobial agents. Researchers can identify favorable conditions and expedite the identification of potent antimicrobial drugs by choosing the best antimicrobial testing technique.
