Imagine lying in bed at night, ready to surrender to sleep, only to be met with an unrelenting sensation that your feet are on fire. The sheets feel unbearably hot, the cool air of the room offers no relief, and no position seems to quiet the gnawing heat radiating from the soles upward. For millions of individuals worldwide, this is not a fleeting discomfort but a chronic, often misunderstood reality. This condition—clinically recognized as Burning Feet Syndrome (BFS) or Grierson-Gopalan syndrome—represents one of the most distressing yet underdiagnosed manifestations of peripheral nerve dysfunction .
