PEDAGOGICAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL FACTORS IN THE FORMATION OF COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT IN PRESCHOOL CHILDREN
Shakhrizoda Lazizovna Rakhmonova , Bukhara International University independent co-researcherAbstract
This article explores the multifaceted interplay between pedagogical strategies and psychological mechanisms in the cognitive development of preschool children (ages 2–7). Recognizing this period as a critical phase for the emergence of symbolic thinking, executive functions, and social understanding, the study examines how external educational "architecture"—such as play-based learning, environmental scaffolding, and the Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD)—synergizes with internal cognitive drivers like curiosity, motivation, and nascent metacognition. By synthesizing Vygotskian social mediation with Piagetian developmental stages, the analysis highlights that cognitive growth is not a linear process of information absorption but a bidirectional transformation. The paper further discusses the impact of social-emotional stability and cultural contexts (e.g., collectivist versus individualistic approaches) on learning efficiency. The findings emphasize that optimal cognitive outcomes are achieved when pedagogical interventions are precisely calibrated to a child's internal psychological readiness, whereas a mismatch, such as rigid rote learning, can lead to cognitive friction and developmental stagnation.
