RHEOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF BLOOD AND ITS BIOPHYSICAL ROLE IN HEMODYNAMIC PROCESSES

The rheological properties of blood (viscosity, erythrocyte deformability and aggregation) play a significant biophysical role in hemodynamic processes. This article analyzes the flow characteristics of blood as a non-Newtonian fluid, its influence on macro- and microcirculation based on Poiseuille’s law, the Fahraeus-Lindqvist effect, and the “sludge” phenomenon. It demonstrates how disturbances in blood rheology lead to tissue hypoxia in cardiovascular diseases, shock states, and microcirculatory disorders. Based on Uzbek medical literature and pathophysiology sources, the clinical significance of rheological parameters is highlighted.
