Mamatova Irodakhon Yusupovna , Andijan State Medical Institute, Head of the Department of Biological Chemistry, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor Madaminova Gulasal Abdurauf qizi , Andijan State Medical Institute, Assistant Professor, Department of Biological ChemistryAbstract
Pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) peel is considered a valuable bioactive by-product generated in the agricultural industry. Recent studies have demonstrated that it contains high amounts of polyphenols, tannins, flavonoids, vitamins, and mineral elements. These compounds provide strong antioxidant, antimicrobial, and pharmacological properties. This article analyzes the chemical composition, biological activity, and potential applications of pomegranate peel in the food, pharmaceutical, and agricultural industries. The results demonstrated that pomegranate peel possesses high antioxidant activity (DPPH, ABTS, FRAP) and has promising potential as a natural preservative.
Keywords
