Abstract

 Idiomatic expressions involving body parts are rich with cultural significance, providing insight into how different societies perceive human anatomy in relation to emotions, behaviors, and values. This article explores the cultural symbolism associated with body parts—such as the head, heart, eyes, hands, feet, tongue, back, and skin—in idiomatic language. It examines how these body parts are used metaphorically to represent intelligence, emotion, perception, action, courage, speech, trust, and resilience. The discussion highlights the shared and unique cultural perspectives reflected in these idioms, revealing universal aspects of human experience and cultural variation in expression.
