NEGATIVE EFFECTS OF URANIUM RADIATION ON ORAL CAVITY ORGANS

Abstract

This article discusses the negative effects of uranium radiation on the organs of the oral cavity. Uranium, a naturally occurring radioactive element, emits alpha, beta, and gamma radiation, which can damage various oral tissues, including salivary glands, mucosal lining, teeth, and periodontal structures. The direct ionizing effects of uranium radiation can lead to cellular damage, increasing the risk of oral cancers and other health complications such as dry mouth (xerostomia), tooth decay, and periodontal disease.
