Abstract

The problem of organ transplantation, including liver transplantation, is a global one, not fully resolved, and requires further study in order to increase the effectiveness of treatment for patients with severe somatic pathology. Currently, liver transplantation is an integral part of the treatment of patients with diffuse liver damage in the terminal stage. Indications for liver transplantation in the modern world have expanded significantly, which increases the chance of achieving the most positive result in the treatment of this pathology. The need for liver transplantation occurs annually in at least 30-40 people per 1 million population. (WHO; 1998) The article presents literature data describing the effect of infectious diseases of the oral cavity on the risks of complications during the rehabilitation period after liver transplantation in patients with diffuse liver lesions.

Keywords

Transplantation, diffuse liver damage, periodontitis, gingivitis.
