Abstract

this article analyzes the role of diet particularly the mediterranean diet (meddiet) in the development and management of metabolic syndrome and chronic pancreatitis. Drawing on evidence from large randomized controlled trials such as predimed and the lyon diet heart study, it highlights the effectiveness of the meddiet in improving insulin resistance, reducing abdominal obesity and dyslipidemia, and lowering cardiovascular and inflammatory risks. The article also explores the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties of key dietary components, including olive oil, nuts, vegetables, and fish, and their impact on pancreatic health and systemic inflammation. Special attention is given to the potential for adapting the meddiet model to the agro-climatic and nutritional resources of the fergana region, offering locally tailored dietary recommendations and preventive programs aimed at improving public health and extending life expectancy.
