Azadova Guzal Alijon kizi , University of Exact and Social Sciences Student of foreign language and literature

Abstract

This article explores proverbs that reflect interethnic relations and interpersonal harmony in both English and Uzbek languages. Proverbs, as a key element of folk wisdom and cultural identity, offer valuable insights into how different societies perceive peaceful coexistence, mutual respect, and social harmony. The study aims to identify and analyze common themes, symbolic imagery, and moral messages found in English and Uzbek paremial units that promote unity, tolerance, and cooperation among individuals and ethnic groups. A comparative approach is employed to highlight both similarities and differences in the worldview and cultural values embedded in these proverbs. The findings reveal that despite linguistic and cultural differences, both traditions emphasize the importance of solidarity, empathy, and peaceful interaction as essential values for maintaining societal cohesion. The article contributes to the understanding of how traditional expressions can serve as tools for fostering intercultural understanding and harmony in a multicultural world.
