Murodova Sohiba Lochinovna, Mardiyev Tulkin Kulibayevich , Samarkand State InstituteAbstract
This article delves into the semantic and etymological representation of the concept of "homeland" in English and Uzbek literature. It aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of how this fundamental concept is articulated, evolved, and perceived within the distinct linguistic and cultural frameworks of these two languages. The study employs a comparative approach, examining linguistic nuances, historical contexts, and literary manifestations that shape the understanding of homeland. It explores the etymological roots of words associated with homeland in both English and Uzbek, tracing their historical development and the shifts in their connotative meanings. Furthermore, the research scrutinizes prominent literary works from both traditions, identifying recurring themes, motifs, and metaphors used to depict the homeland. By juxtaposing the English and Uzbek representations, the article seeks to highlight both universal aspects of the homeland concept and culturally specific interpretations. It will also investigate how socio-political and historical events have influenced the literary portrayal of homeland in both cultures.
