MODERN LINGUISTIC BRANCH PRAGMATICS AND CONTEXTUAL ANALYSIS OF '' LONG WALK TO FOREVER''

Abstract

The article discusses a study that explored what pragmatics is, its roots and development as a separate linguistic branch, and pragmatic features that help both addressers and addressees to understand the contextual meaning. It also encompasses linguapragmatic analysis of "Long Walk to Forever" by Kurt Vonnegut, offering pragmatic understanding of literature in dialogues and real communicative speeches through literary works. The study concludes whether context-based language training (pragmatics) can contribute to improving receptive and productive skills of EFL (English as a Foreign Language) students.
