This article explores the pedagogical opportunities of using information literacy in the teaching of informatics. In the modern educational environment, students need not only technical knowledge but also the ability to search, evaluate, analyze, organize, and use information effectively. Integrating information literacy into informatics lessons helps develop critical thinking, digital competence, problem-solving skills, and independent learning abilities. The study examines effective teaching methods, interactive strategies, and digital tools that support the formation of information literacy competencies in students. It also highlights the role of teachers in creating learner-centered environments where students can responsibly work with information resources. The article concludes that combining information literacy with informatics education improves students’ academic performance and prepares them for successful participation in the information society.
