This article explores the sociolinguistic approach to enhancing communicative competence among high school students in English language teaching. It discusses the theoretical underpinnings of sociolinguistics, its relevance in developing language skills, and practical strategies for classroom implementation. The article emphasizes the need for curricula that incorporate sociolinguistic contexts to prepare students for effective communication in diverse environments. It concludes with recommendations for educators and further research in this field.
