This paper examines the historical background, key features, and ongoing relevance of the Grammar-Translation Method (GTM) in language learning. Despite the decline in its popularity due to the rise of communicative approaches, GTM remains a significant method in certain academic contexts. This study evaluates its effectiveness in terms of grammar acquisition and reading comprehension and compares its application with modern teaching approaches.
