CURRENT STATE OF HISTORICAL SQUARES, ARCHITECTURAL, HISTORICAL AND FUNCTIONAL ROLE OF SQUARES

Islamova Dilnoza Gayratovna,Rumi Okazaki , Senior teacher Samarkand State University of Architecture and Construction named after Mirzo Ulugbek,is an Associate Professor at the Shibaura Institute of Technology's School of Architecture (Tokyo).

Abstract

This article provides a general description of the squares and their current status, as well as the architectural, historical and functional role of the squares in the city.   Based on this, the areas in each typological group were selected based on their storage potential. When placing buildings in the central square, great importance is attached to its architectural composition. Buildings, structures and other elements located on the square are combined with each other and complement each other, creating a unique architectural ensemble.
