THE ROLE OF PEER INFLUENCE IN BUILDING SELF-CONFIDENCE AMONG STUDENTS

Abstract

Peer influence plays a critical role in the development of self-confidence during adolescence, a period characterized by heightened social awareness and vulnerability to external opinions. This article explores the mechanisms by which peer relationships impact students' self-esteem and self-confidence, with a focus on peer feedback, social comparison, and the formation of group identities. The article discusses both positive and negative influences of peer relationships and provides insights into how peer interactions can be leveraged to promote self-confidence among students in educational settings.
