True pemphigus (PV) is an autoimmune disease of the skin and mucous membranes, which is histologically characterized by intraepidermal blisters resulting from acantholysis . The name “pemphigus” (“pemphigus”) was first used by Hippocrates (460 - ca. 370 BC) to designate a severe fever accompanied by the appearance of blisters on the skin.In the general structure of skin diseases, the share of this disease ranges from 0.7 to 1%. Women aged 40 to 60 years are most often affected.
