The article analyzes the methods and means of assessing the physical fitness of children aged 10-12 involved in handball through tests and selecting them. Based on the analysis, the scientific and methodological aspects of the problem of directing and selecting young handball players to sports at the initial training stage, the issues of directing, selecting and selecting children and adolescents to sports are covered.
