THE USE OF TOPONYMIC INFORMATION IN SCHOOL GEOGRAPHY LESSONS

Abstract

This article analyzes the importance and effective methods of using toponymic information in school geography lessons. Toponymics, that is, the science of studying place names, will increase students' interest in geography, help them gain a deeper understanding of the history, culture, and natural-geographic features of the area. In the course of the research, it was found that toponymic information enriches the knowledge of students and helps to make the teaching process lively and visual. The article also mentions the possibilities and problems of effective integration of toponymic information into the teaching process, including the lack of methodological materials and the need to increase the level of training of teachers in toponymy.
