
MODERN MOTIVES OF NAMING IN ENGLISH-SPEAKING COUNTRIES

This article explores the contemporary motives behind personal naming practices in English-speaking countries, with a focus on sociolinguistic, cultural, psychological, and media-driven factors. Modern naming trends increasingly reflect global influences, individual identity, popular culture, and socio-political changes. The study analyzes how parents choose names based on uniqueness, cultural heritage, celebrity impact, and phonetic preferences. Drawing on qualitative and quantitative data, the article highlights the shift from traditional naming conventions to more personalized and diversified patterns. This research contributes to onomastic studies by providing insight into the evolving dynamics of name-giving in a globalized context.
