INTEGRATING LINGUISTIC ECOLOGY INTO LANGUAGE EDUCATION: STRATEGIES AND CHALLENGES

Abstract

This article explores the integration of linguistic ecology into language education, emphasizing how ecological perspectives can enrich pedagogical practices and promote linguistic diversity. Drawing from interdisciplinary research in sociolinguistics, education, and environmental studies, the paper outlines key strategies for incorporating linguistic ecological principles into curriculum design, classroom instruction, and language policy. It also identifies significant challenges, such as institutional resistance, lack of teacher training, and sociopolitical barriers, while suggesting practical recommendations for overcoming these obstacles.
