THE FORMATION OF SLAVERY IN CENTRAL ASIA DURING THE MIDDLE AGES

Abstract

This article explores the historical development and characteristics of slavery in Central Asia during the Middle Ages. It examines the economic, social, and political factors that contributed to the rise of slavery, as well as the roles and conditions of slaves in various parts of the region. The study also highlights the influence of external invasions, trade routes, and local governance on the expansion and regulation of slavery. By analyzing historical sources and scholarly research, the article provides a comprehensive understanding of how slavery was shaped and practiced in medieval Central Asian societies.
