The article deals with the issue of the formation of toponyms located in the territory of the Chimboy district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. To shed light on the topic, it was revealed that in the formation of toponyms, there is a method of borrowing from other languages in the formation of new names. A description is given to toponyms formed from human names.
