Abstract

I.P. Pavlov divided people's conditioned reflexes into two sharply different categories. Conditioned reflexes that arise to specific signals form the “first signal system”, which is common to humans and animals. Conditioned reflexes that arise only to words, characteristic of humans, form the “second signal system”
