
MOTIVATION STRATEGIES FOR TEACHING ENGLISH TO TEENAGERS

working with teenage English learners brings both satisfaction and difficulty. During adolescence, young people face emotional shifts, peer influence, and questions about who they are—all of which shape their willingness to learn. This paper explores practical methods teachers can use to spark and sustain motivation in teenage classrooms. Key approaches include incorporating digital tools, linking lessons to genuine student interests, fostering peer interaction, offering personal choices, and building supportive classroom environments. When educators grasp what teenagers need emotionally and socially, English instruction becomes more engaging and productive.
