This article analyzes local and international attention to the Aral Sea crisis and its ecological and socio-economic consequences. It highlights state policies aimed at addressing the problem, regional cooperation initiatives, and the role of international organizations. Additionally, measures and prospective projects undertaken to ensure the sustainable development of the Aral Sea region are examined. The article demonstrates that the Aral tragedy is increasingly securing a prominent place on the global community’s agenda.
