Abstract

This research delves into the intricate connection between community participation in conservation efforts and land cover change within the biodiverse Kakamega Forest, Kenya. The study explores the multifaceted interactions, consequences, and potential solutions regarding land use changes in a region where human livelihoods and ecosystem preservation are intertwined. By combining field surveys, remote sensing data, and community interviews, the study investigates the complex relationship between community engagement and the evolving landscape, shedding light on the coexistence of people and the environment in Kakamega Forest.
